We are dedicated to helping clients operate high-voltage systems safely, reliably, and with minimal environmental impact. From equipment maintenance to emergency response, Substation Solutions delivers expertise you can trust across the nation.
Brad Webb is the President and Founder of Substation Solutions, bringing nearly two decades of utility industry experience and technical leadership to the energy sector. Throughout his career with PG&E, Brad advanced from a Groundman position to upper management, developing a comprehensive understanding of utility operations, maintenance, engineering, and asset management.
As a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in substation apparatus, Brad has extensive experience in asset strategy development, asset maintenance programs, project management, equipment reliability, and lifecycle management. His background includes supporting critical transmission and distribution infrastructure across a wide range of voltage classes, providing technical expertise that enhances system performance, reliability, and safety.
Leveraging his utility experience, Brad founded Substation Solutions to deliver specialized consulting, project execution, and technical services throughout the energy industry. The company supports clients across voltage ranges from 12 kV to 500 kV, offering expertise in substation design support, equipment evaluation, maintenance strategies, operational improvements, and new product development.
Brad's combination of field experience, technical expertise, and executive leadership enables him to bridge the gap between operational requirements and strategic business objectives, helping utilities, EPC firms, manufacturers, and energy developers successfully execute complex infrastructure projects while improving asset performance and reliability.
Substation Solutions was founded to bridge the gap between equipment manufacturers and the utilities that depend on them. We are not brokers or middlemen. Our team consists of actual field technicians who maintain, repair, and consult on high-voltage equipment across the country. That hands-on experience informs everything we do.
Over the years, we have developed deep expertise in circuit breaker overhauls, SF6 gas management, thermography, and the technical challenges utilities face when operating critical infrastructure. Our shop in Montana and coordination from our California headquarters enable us to mobilize quickly and solve problems others cannot.
We believe the best service comes from technicians who have worked in the field, understand the pressures utilities face, and prioritize both reliability and compliance. That commitment drives our reputation and our mission.
We deliver a comprehensive range of services across the full spectrum of substation equipment and operations.
12kV to 500kV maintenance, overhauls, new installations, and sourcing. We repair and refurbish breakers to original specifications.
SF6, natural gas, and nitrogen inspections. Infrared thermography to identify hot spots and equipment degradation before failure.
Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) and thermal monitoring systems to track transformer and equipment health in real time.
Complete SF6 management including recovery, recycling, sales, and compliance documentation for EPA regulations.
DC battery systems for substation backup power and control circuits. Includes testing, maintenance, and replacement.
Comprehensive testing protocols, relay testing, and commissioning services for new installations and equipment overhauls.
Environmental compliance is not an afterthought at Substation Solutions. It is central to how we operate. SF6 is a potent greenhouse gas, and we take EPA standards seriously. Every repair, every installation, and every service call is executed with environmental stewardship in mind.
We deliver customized solutions that optimize your equipment's reliability, safety, and compliance posture. Whether you need emergency support or long-term consulting, our approach is to listen, understand your constraints, and provide solutions that work for your operation and your budget.
Our technicians are trained not just in equipment repair, but in the regulatory landscape that governs high-voltage operations. That dual expertise ensures that your substation stays reliable, compliant, and environmentally responsible.
